With today being my birthday, I thought it would be fun to share some of my all time favorite movie moments. These are all scenes that have stuck with me since I originally saw them. They are ones that I could rewatch on loop and still get chills every time. I will share a little of my thoughts but will let the scene speak for itself for the most part. I also tried to limit myself to one scene per franchise as I could easily fill a majority of the list from just Star Wars, the MCU, and Lord of the Rings. With that said, here are my 10 favorite movie moments.

Spoiler Warning as I will be showing scenes from important parts in these movies.

1. Avengers Assemble - Avengers: Endgame

Honestly, the whole third act of this movie is amazing but I can't put a clip that is an hour long. This part of the movie is where Captain America is about to go up against Thanos' army when all of the other heroes that got snapped come back to his aide. The music and the appearance of all of the different characters is just top notch. I was so excited when I first saw this scene in the theater.

2. Rocky Wins - Rocky II

This is the best moment in the Rocky franchise where Rocky finally beats Apollo Creed. The clock is ticking and you have no idea who is going to get off the map when Rocky makes it at the last second. It makes you want to stand and cheer.

3. When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth - Jurassic Park

This is the big final moment in Jurassic Park. The raptors are closing in and you think the main characters are going to be eaten when the T-Rex comes out of nowhere and saves the day. The music just makes this scene perfect with the triumphant end to the song timing perfectly with the T-Rex roar.

4. Vader’s Entrance - Rogue One

I was torn between this scene and the destruction of the Death Star in the original film. This scene shows how awesome of a character Darth Vader. You hear his iconic breathing and know all of these characters are doomed. It is so cool to see him just rip through all of these rebels like they are nothing.

5. You Leave Her Alone - Back to the Future

This scene pays off Back to the Future in such a great way. It shows George McFly finally standing up to Biff, not to protect himself but to protect Lorraine. It is so simple yet so great.

6. Escape - Shawshank Redemption

This scene brings such great satisfaction after seeing what Andy had to go through in prison. The triumphant music and happiness on this face just say it all about how great this scene is.

7. Battle of Pelennor Fields - Lord of the Rings

This is probably one of the most epic moments on the list. The visuals are amazing. The charge of the army is just so cool and when you see the fear of the orcs when you realize they aren't stopping is just the icing on time. This is my original favorite moment and what sparked this list.

8. E.T Says Good Bye - E.T

This scene is more emotional than anything else. We see E.T say his goodbye to Elliot that just tugs at the heart. The music in this is top notch. A fun fact about this scene is that when John Williams, the composer, wrote the music, he was struggling to time out the ending with the end of the movie, as usually the composer writes music to match the scene. However, Steven Spielberg, the director, told him just to conduct what feels right and then he reedited the movie to match.

9. Mission Fake Out - Mission: Impossible - Fallout

This is the most recent scene on this list. The fake out is what puts this at the top for me. The team literally has to cut the wire at the last second and then cuts to white making you think they failed. The scene then pans to Ethan showing that he shut off the bomb at the last second. This scene brought so much stress and relief all at the same time.

For spot number 10, I couldn't decide so I opted to go with 3 moments from franchises I already used that didn't make the original cut.

10. Captain America is Worthy - Avengers: Endgame

Basically tied with Avengers Assemble is this scene here. I was so excited when I first saw Captain America wield Mjolnir. This is something that was set up 4 years prior in Avengers: Age of Ultron and was paid off here in the best possible way.

11. Welcome to Jurassic Park - Jurassic Park

This is the moment in Jurassic Park where Dinosaurs first appear on screen. The sense of awe and the music is what elevates this scene for. The music is so perfectly timed where when the dinosaur lands on the ground is at the same time as the big drum hit.

12. Death Star Destruction - Star Wars

Outside of Rogue One, this is the best moment from Star Wars. It has this edge of your seat excitement where Luke is on his own and about to be shot by Darth Vader and Han Solo comes in and saves him. The scene then concludes with the Death Star exploding at the last second. It is just so great and is one of the peaks of Star Wars
