This weekend, Paddington in Peru, the third film in the Paddington series, was released in theaters. Paddington in Peru follows Paddington and his family as they journey to Peru to find Aunt Lucy after she has disappeared. This was one of my most anticipated movies of the year. I loved the first two films, so I was hoping this film would be able to capture more of the same charm as the other two films.

This film was absolutely delightful. This movie brought the same effortless charm that the other two movies did. This movie delivers exactly the direction I wanted this franchise to go in. For a while, I have been saying that I want each new Paddington film to explore a different genre and this one does that putting Paddington in an Indiana Jones-esqe adventure movie. The movie doesn't lose any of the charm and heart that made the other two films great but just brings Paddington into a new genre and location. This movie had quite a few Indiana Jones-inspired moments that I thought were a lot of fun. The movie even has a little bit of a Buster Keaton reference towards the end of the movie. This movie does a great job of taking the Paddington shenanigans we love and bringing them to the jungles of Peru. Just like the last movie, this movie also brings an emotional ending that almost makes you want to cry. This movie was also Sarah and I's Valentine's Day movie and we both thought it was a sweet movie for a Valentine's Day date.

The main issue I had with the film was with the villains. The film has two villains and I didn't feel that either of them were particularly strong. They could have really just combined into one character and I think it would have worked a little better.

Overall, this is another fun and charming Paddington film that brings Paddington to a new location without losing any of the charm of the other two films. I hope that they keep making more of these movies.

Score: 8.5/10 Grade: A- Recommendation: This is a must-see family film

Sarah's Score: 5/5 Bears
