Top Movies to Watch from 2019 That Defined a Year

With a new month, it is time to go through a new year of movies. This year will be 2019. 2019 was a very big year for movies both in the business and me watching them. This was the last truly normal year for movies with Hollywood still trying to recover from Covid. This was also the first year that I watched all 10 Best Picture nominees before the Oscars which has since become a yearly tradition for me.

2019 at the Box office saw an impressive 9 movies make over $1 billion, something that has never happened before and hasn't happened since. This was also a very big year for Disney with them making 7/9 billion dollar movies. This was also the year of Avengers: Endgame which (briefly) was the highest grossing film of all time. Here are the top 10 films at the Box office this year.

There were quite a few horror films including several Stephen King adaptions, some creature features, and some original horror films that would become quite popular.

This year was also a big year for super hero movies with 3 MCU movies, 2 DC movies and the last Fox X-men movie.

There were also a few fun mystery whodunnit type of movies all of which I very much enjoyed.

There were also a few romantic comedies that were decent

There were also quite a few comedies this year. Some were misses but there were also quite a few fun ones.
