For this month's streaming recommendations, we are looking at Paramount+ . Paramount+ has easily had the biggest glow-up out of any of the streaming services. When it first started, it was called CBS All Access and had very little to offer aside from CBS shows and the occasional Star Trek series. Since the rebranding, it has a lot more properties to offer from CBS, Showtime, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, and even the Smithsonian Channel. Paramount+ is also the only channel that offers live access to its parent channel, CBS, without having to pay an extra premium. This list of recommendations will be in two sections, original TV shows and Back Catalog. Original movies aren't really something Paramount has focused on. There are a few, but none are worth watching.

As usual, this section features TV shows that were made exclusively for Paramount+ . Over the past few years, Paramount has been putting out quite a few solid prestige level shows with A-list actors.

iCarly: This is a reboot of the early 2000s show from Nickelodeon. The show continues the story of Carly, Freddy and Spencer, but sadly not Sam, as they navigate their adult lives. The show has Carly and Freddy grow up with the audience with the new show having more adult themes to it. iCarly is rated TV-PG.

Star Trek Originals: One of the big showcases of Paramount+ is its complete Star Trek catalog, which includes numerous Paramount Plus original shows. There is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a show that follows Captain Pike, Spock, and the U.S.S Enterprise crew a decade before Captain Kirk, Star Trek: Lower Decks, an animated show about some low level crew members on the U.S.S Cerritos, Star Trek: Picard, a sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation and follows Jean-Luc Picard in the later years of his life, and Star Trek: Discovery, a show about the USS Discovery, 10 years before Kirk and Spock.

South Park Specials: Paramount made a deal with Comedy Central to stream several South Park TV specials. So far, there are seven South Park specials with topics ranging from the streaming wars to COVID to the multiverse. The specials are rated TV-MA.

School Spirits: This is a mystery fantasy show starring Peyton List and follows a girl named Maddie who finds herself stuck in the afterlife at her high school and decides to investigate her disappearance. School Spirits is rated TV-MA.

Tulsa King: This is a crime drama show starring Sylvester Stallone. Tulsa King follows former New York Mafia capo Dwight Manfredi as he is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma after being released from 25 years in prison. Tulsa King is rated TV-MA.

1923: This is a prequel to Yellowstone starring Harrison Ford and Hellen Mirren and follows the Dutton family as they face challenges of the early 20th century such as Western Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. 1923 is rated TV-MA.

Mobland: This is a new show starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren and follows Harry Da Souza, a street-smart "fixer," when two warring crime families clash. Mobland is rated TV-MA

Mayor of Kingstown: This is a crime drama starring Jeremy Renner and follows the Mclusky Family as they attempt to keep the peace in Kingstown, a town where the business is incarceration, between street gangs, prisoners, guards, and cops. Mayor of Kingstown is rated TV-MA.

Lioness: This is a spy action thriller starring Zoe Saldana, Niccole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman. The show follows CIA operative, Joe, as she attempts to balance her personal and professional life while spearheading the agencies war on terror. Lioness is rated TV-MA.

Why Woman Kill: This is a drama anthology series that follows three women in different decades living in the same house as they deal with infidelity in their marriages. This isn't my kind of show but Sarah really liked it so I figured I would include one of her recommendations on here. Why Woman Kill is rated TV-MA.

This section consists of movies and TV shows that are currently housed on Paramount+ but weren't specifically made for the service. Most of these were still made by Paramount so they are more likely to stay on the service but there is the chance they they could still leave at some point.

Star Trek: As was brought up in the original section, Paramount+ has the complete catalog of Star Trek. All of the movies are on the service, from the original 6 films, to the three next generation films, and the 3 reboot films. All of the TV shows are also included, such as Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. So this alone makes Paramount+ a big draw for any Star Trek fans.

Nickelodeon: Paramount+ also has a large catalog of Nickelodeon shows. There are classic cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Odd Parents, and Danny Phantom. As well as Teen Nick shows like iCarly, Victorious, Zoey 101, and Drake and Josh. There is also a large array of classic Nick Jr shows like Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues, Little Bear, Peppa Pig, The Backyardigans, and many modern Nick Jr Shows (I'm not going to try and name any of those as I don't know what is popular for kids now).

Ghosts: This is a show currently airing on CBS and follows a young married couple trying to open a B&B with house haunted by ghosts which the wife, Sam, can see and talk to. Ghosts is rated TV-PG.

CBS Reality Shows: Paramount+ is also home to all of the episodes of popular reality TV shows. Some of the big ones are Survivor, a show where 18 castaways have to outwit and outlast each other on an island, The Amazing Race, a travel show where teams of two race around the world, and Big Brother, a show where young singles are stuck in a house together and attempt to be the last one standing.

Sonic the Hedgehog: This is a movie series following Sonic the Hedgehog and is family as they defend the Earth from Dr. Robotnik. There are three movies, each of which is better than the last, in my opinion. The Sonic the Hedgehog movies are rated PG.

Top Gun Maverick: This was the big hit movie of 2021 and continues the story of Pete Mitchel as he is brought back to Top Gun to train a new class of pilots. Top Gun Maverick is rated PG-13.

A Quiet Place: This is a popular horror franchise directed by John Krasinski. The movies follow survivors of an alien invasion where they must learn to survive but not make any sound as the aliens have super sonic hearing. There are three movies in the franchise, all of which are very good. The A Quiet Place movies are rated PG-13.

Pain & Gain: This is a movie by Michael Bay starring Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony Mackie. The movie follows a trio of bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring and kidnapping scheme that goes wrong. Pain & Gain is rated R.

Novocaine: This is a new action movie from 2025 starring Jack Quaid. This movie follows Nathan Caine, a man who can feel no pain, as he goes on a mission to rescue his girlfriend from a group of bank robbers. Novocaine is rated R.

Mission: Impossible: All seven Mission: Impossible movies are also on Paramount+. The Mission: Impossible franchise stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, as he goes on various missions to save the world. All of the Mission: Impossible movies are rated PG-13.
