Last weekend, Your Place or Mine, a romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher released on Netflix. Your Place or Mine follows best friends, Debbie and Peter as they explore each other's lives when they swap homes for a week. During the week, they discover the truth about each other and learn that they may share stronger feelings for each other than they thought. This is the kind of movie that Sarah really likes and was a good fit to watch on Valentine's Day.

The best thing about this movie is the two leads, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. They both are very charming, and funny and produce very likable characters. They also have great chemistry together when they do interact. I also enjoyed the fish out of water concept where they are each trying to figure out how to live in this new setting. Ashton Kutcher's side of the story was particularly compelling as it shows his character trying and be a good father figure and help out Debbie's son. Finally, there are a few funny moments that got a laugh out of me.

Unfortunately, the movie didn't do much for me, and overall is a movie I didn't really care for. In general, these types of movies just really aren't my thing. I found the story quite unfocused specifically on Debbie's side. It seems to shift from being about her letting go to more about her trying to help Peter. In the end, neither of the characters really has any sort of arc or character growth. They just learn about their feelings for each other, but neither of their journeys really allows them to grow as people. There were also quite a few lapses in logic, mostly to do with the timing of different things and how characters are waking up at the same time when they have a 3-hour time difference. In general, this was just a very forgettable movie for me with not many memorable moments.

Overall, this was an ok rom-com that had some entertainment value but was pretty forgettable and further reinforces that these types of movies just aren't my thing.

Score: 5/10 Grade: C Recommendation: Stream it if you love Rom-Coms
