This Thursday, the season final of Citadel was released onto Amazon Prime. Citadel follows spy, Mason Kane after the global spy agency he works for, Citadel, falls and his memories are erased. When allies from his past emerge, Mason must find his former partner and relearn everything about being a spy to stop a global threat. Based on the trailer, I was expecting somewhat of a James Bond feel. I also liked some of the actors in it so it got me interested.

Starting right off, this show is not good. There are a few positives to it but overall it is a very forgettable show. I liked the basic premise of the show with the spies having their memories wiped and having to relearn everything. Some of the action sequences were kind of fun and reminded me of James Bond. However, that is really about it in terms of positives.

There really isn't that much memorable about this show. Amazon bragged about this show having a huge budget but it really doesn't show. I'm not sure if they just spent all the money on snacks or something but there really aren't that many big high-budget sequences. The action sequences are few and far between. I can only think of probably 3 action scenes for the entire series when really there should be something in every episode. I was hoping for a James Bond-style adventure but in reality, the show was just an incredibly boring generic spy show. The show also isn't really interested in telling the main story of the show. It spends more time in flashbacks than in the present day leaving about 2-3 episodes of actual story to the point that the show spends 3 episodes on just flashbacks and the actual plot not moving forward at all. This show was just very poorly written and paced. I also felt that the characters had no chemistry together and were not all that likable. None of them really had any sort of personality and just played dry emotionless characters. Finally, the show ends on a cliff hanger setting up a second season, but it does such a poor job of making things interesting that I really don't care what happens in the next season.

In the end, this was an incredibly disappointing show that really wasted the opportunity to be a big James Bond-style show.

Grade: D Score: 4/10 Recommendation: Skip it
