This weekend, John Wick: Chapter 4, the newest entry in the John Wick franchise, released in theaters. John Wick: Chapter 4 follows John after being excommunicated and forced to live on the run. To gain his freedom, John must fight a new foe who is bent on giving out judgment on John and all those who assisted him. John Wick has been one of the premier action franchises of the past 10 years. They are all really well done and I was really excited to see where they went in this next film.

This is an outstanding film. As with all of the John Wick films, this movie has so many amazing action set pieces that are well-choreographed and really fun to watch. All of the action sequences are long and exciting with sweeping uninterrupted shots. The movie is at a high scale than the rest of the films and really comes across as a great action epic. The movie adds in a lot of new characters such as Cain and Mr. Nobody who make great additions to the franchise and deliver some great action moments. The movie also manages to build on the characters of the previous films, such as John, Winston, and the Bowery King, as we get to see how the events of the last few films have impacted them and how they can live their lives. Bill Skarsgard as the Marquis is a great choice as the villain. He delivers a menacing yet calm and confident performance and you are really able to dislike him as a character. The movie also does a great job of handling its runtime. At first, I was a bit concerned with a 2-hour and 49-minute run time as I thought it was going to be too long. But the movie uses the long length with a purpose and really allows the story to build and tie up things into a nice bow and really grow the story into a sweeping epic. Finally, I think the film did a nice job of closing things with the franchise. The ending has a great sense of finality to it and really closes out John Wick's story in a natural way.

There isn't much in this film that I took issue with. The only issues are that I thought the first half jumped around a bit too much. Other than that, I thought this was a fantastic film.

Overall, John Wick: Chapter 4 is a very well-made film. It delivers great action and provides a closing story for the John Wick franchise. This is one of the great action franchises and a truly epic and entertaining movie.

Score: 8.9/10 Grade: A- Recommendation: Must watch for action fans

R Rating Disclaimer; This movie is rated R for language and violence. The language is fairly tame in this film with only 3-4 F bombs. Most of violence are from gunshots. If you can handle the violence, it should be fine to watch.
