Top Must-Watch Apple TV+ Series and Movies You Can't Miss

For the month of September, it is time to do my final streaming recommendations post, this time for Apple TV+. Apple TV+ is a bit different than the other streaming services in that it has nothing but original content. Thus, instead of having three sections of recommendations, I will only have two, Original Movies and Original TV shows. With all that said, here are some recommendations of what to watch on Apple TV+.
Let's start with original movies. These films were made exclusively for Apple TV+ and, while some had limited theatrical runs, they quickly became available only through this service.
Killers of the Flower Moon: This is a historical epic from Martin Scorsese. It tells the story of a series of murders in the Osage Nation Land and the FBI's efforts to unravel the mystery. Killers of the Flower Moon is rated R.
Napoleon: This is a historical epic by Ridley Scott. It stars Joaquin Phoenix and tells the story of Napoleon and his rise to power and ultimate fall. Napoleon is rated PG-13.
Argyle: This is a spy action comedy by Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kingsman films. It follows spy novelist author, Ellie Conway, as she is hunted by a global spy syndicate when it is discovered that her novels mirror real-world events in real time. Argyle is rated PG-13.
Spirited: This is a Christmas musical starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. The movie is a loose modern-day retelling of A Christmas Carol, where the Ghost of Christmas Present and his colleagues target a heartless media consultant. Spirited is rated PG-13.
Fly Me to the Moon: This is a romantic comedy starring Scarlet Johansson and Channing Tatum. It follows NASA Launch Director, Cole Davis, as he is forced to work with a marketing consultant to bring public interest to the Apollo 11 moon launch. Fly Me to the Moon is rated PG-13.
Cherry: This is a crime/war drama from the directors of Avengers: Endgame. The movie stars Tom Holland as a college dropout who goes from being an army medic to a life entwined with drugs and crime. Cherry is rated R.
Tetris: This is a video game biopic starring Taron Edgerton. The movie tells the story of video game designer Henk Rogers and his creation of the popular game Tetris. Tetris is rated R.
F1: The Movie: This is a racing blockbuster from the director of Top Gun: Maverick. This movie stars Brad Pitt as a retired Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor and team up with a younger driver. F1: The Movie is rated PG-13.
Highest 2 Lowest: This is the newest film from Spike Lee and a remake of the film High and Low. The movie stars Denzel Washington and follows a titan music mogul who is targeted with a ransom plot and must battle a life-or-death moral dilemma. Highest 2 Lowest is rated R.
This final section is all about original TV shows. These are all TV shows that are made for and stream exclusively on Apple TV+.
Severance: This is a dystopian thriller created by Ben Stiller. It follows a group of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague turns up outside of work, it begins a snowball effect that causes the workers to learn the truth about their jobs. Severance is rated TV-MA
Ted Lasso: This is a sports comedy starring Jason Sudeikis. The show follows a former American college football coach who heads to London to coach a struggling soccer team. Ted Lasso is rated TV-MA.
Slow Horses: This is a spy thriller starring Gary Oldman. It follows a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents who work to defend England from sinister forces. Slow Horses is rated TV-MA.
The Morning Show: This is a workplace drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. It conveys an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning and explores unique challenges faced by the team. The Morning Show is rated TV-MA.
See: This is a sci-fi action show starring Jason Momoa. It tells a story of a society set in a dystopian future where the human race has lost its sense of sight and must find new ways to survive. See is rated TV-MA.
For All Mankind: This is a Sci-fi alternative history drama. The show follows an alternative version of 1969 where the Soviet Union was the first to the moon, causing the space race to continue on for decades. For All Mankind is rated TV-MA.
Lessons in Chemistry: This is a period drama starring Brie Larson. It follows a young woman whose dream of being a scientist is challenged by 1950s society as she uses a cooking show to teach people more than just recipes. Lessons in Chemistry is rated TV-MA.
Dickinson: This is a coming-of-age drama starring Hailee Steinfeld. It tells the story of the young poet, Emily Dickinson, as she is challenged by the constraints of society in the 19th century. Dickinson is rated TV-14.
Shrinking: This is a comedy-drama starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford. It follows a grieving therapist who starts to tell his clients exactly what he thinks, ignoring his training and ethics, and soon finds himself making huge changes to people's lives.
Silo: This is a Sci-Fi show starring Rebecca Ferguson. It tells the story of a group of men and women who live in a silo underground with strict rules that they believe are in place to protect them. Silo is rated TV-MA.
The Studio: This is a comedy series starring Seth Rogan It follows a legacy Hollywood movie studio that is struggling to survive in a world where art often conflicts with business. The Studio is rated TV-MA.
